We’ll travel up the harbor together to the Nantucket Oyster Farms to see the oyster farmers at work and learn how oysters are highly beneficial to both Nantucket’s ecosystem and culinary offerings. Oysters are a Nantucket staple, after all!
We’ll take a deep dive into the inner workings of an oyster farm, including how we practice sustainable farming on Nantucket and take our oysters from hatch all the way to harvest. You’ll learn the ecological benefits of oysters, including their valuable role in island water filtration and habitat enhancement. We’ll bring you up close to see the oyster cultivation process…And then you’ll have the chance to taste Nantucket oysters for yourself and see why they’re so loved on island.

Our Oyster Farm Cruises accommodate up to 11 passengers and run for two hours, so you’ll have plenty of time to relax, learn, and enjoy fresh oysters. Whether you’re in a small group or hosting an event, we’ll make sure your trip is one to remember. This tour runs during the day, so be sure to bring sunscreen!
On this cruise, you’ll leave from Children’s Beach pier aboard the Wampum, a 24-foot Carolina Skiff. Traveling up the coastline, you’ll have plenty of great photo opportunities to capture every moment and see Nantucket from unique perspectives you can only get on the water.
